The Adventures of Tintin is an action-packed fantasy, mystery, adventure involving a hunt for a lost treasure. Tintin and Captain Haddock set out to find a treasure that went down on a ship that was commanded by Haddockäó»s ancestor. He knows that the treasure is his by ancestral right, but someone else has a different idea. Will Tintin and Captain Haddock find the sunken ship, the Unicorn, before the evil villain Mr. Sakharine? Only time will tell, and this family guide to the movies will not. Remember, no spoilers, no not ever.

Tintin is suspicious when Mr. Sakharine is so eager to buy the Unicorn from him. Mr. Sakharine is so desperate that he will resort to kidnapping Tintin. He stuffs Tintin and his dog, Snowy, aboard a cargo ship headed for Morocco. It is a seafaring, swashbuckling adventure from here on out. This family movie guide thinks that this adventure is a world of fun, particularly for those who are fans of Captain Jack and Pirates of the Caribbean. In this version of the classic, film reviews you will see nothing but fun all the way, pirate adventure, and the treasure hunters must solve the mystery of the Unicorn in order to claim their prize. It is a race to see who will solve the mystery and recover the prize first.

The movie was rated a PG, rather than a G for some action and violence, some drunkenness and smoking. This is a pirate movie and this family movie review does not see how pirates can be pirates without at least a little bit of mischief. It is not excessive and tends to add to an understanding of the characterization in the movie. In respect to the action, drinking and smoking, this film is similar to others in its genre. People get slugged, things fall on top of people, a ship catches on fire, and big things come crashing down, just the typical type of stuff that you would expect in film reviews for families about pirate movies.

This movie is a fun adventure that will take you beyond what you thought was possible in terms of 3D effects. The characters are delightful, the villains are not delightful. This movie guide found out that this movie references the literary classic that was mentioned several times in Raiders of the Lost Ark. Spielberg found these classics and created this movie from them. Tintin comes to life in a thrill-packed shameless adventure in a style that combines features of both Raiders of the Lost Ark and Pirates of the Caribbean into a single, delightful adventure that the entire family is certain to love this holiday season.
