The movie was rated a PG, rather than a G for some action and violence, some drunkenness and smoking. This is a pirate movie and this family movie review does not see how pirates can be pirates without at least a little bit of mischief. It is not excessive and tends to add to an understanding of the characterization in the movie. In respect to the action, drinking and smoking, this film is similar to others in its genre. People get slugged, things fall on top of people, a ship catches on fire, and big things come crashing down, just the typical type of stuff that you would expect in film reviews for families about pirate movies.
This movie is a fun adventure that will take you beyond what you thought was possible in terms of 3D effects. The characters are delightful, the villains are not delightful. This movie guide found out that this movie references the literary classic that was mentioned several times in Raiders of the Lost Ark. Spielberg found these classics and created this movie from them. Tintin comes to life in a thrill-packed shameless adventure in a style that combines features of both Raiders of the Lost Ark and Pirates of the Caribbean into a single, delightful adventure that the entire family is certain to love this holiday season.
