In this post-apocalyptic world ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampires, one hero (Priest), must save the last remaining human inhabitants from the äóìChurchäó. Priestäó»s niece is kidnapped by a pack of evil vampires. Priest must find her before they turn her into one of the brood. He is accompanied on his crusade by his nieceäó»s boyfriend, a sheriff, and a former Warrior Priestess with supernatural powers.

This family movie review rates this sci-fi thriller as extremely violent and bloody. Yes, your teen who likes vampires will love this one. It is a little like a cross between The Chronicles of Reddick and Mad Max meets Clint Eastwood. Only, the characters do not use as many four letter words as Reddick and certainly not as many as Clint Eastwood. The vampire monsters look a lot like they are right out of that old game Doom. In this dark, sinister world where humanäó»s are confined to safe cities, there are too many throwing stars, swords, and shotguns to count. These fall to the ground right between the monsters and humans who meet a bloody demise. This movie definitely has a parental advisory against taking the very young to this one. This one could cause a loss of sleep for parents due to nightmares in the very young. In some scenes, the monsters come right at the screen with teeth bared.

For those that are not very young and are not intimidated by extreme, nonstop violence, this movie does not have anything that your average video game does not have to offer. For the most part, the language was relatively clean, but strong in some places. There were no explicit references or other objectionable content. It is a hero saving the world movie, but with a dark, violent twist. All in all, this movie promises to be a good science fiction vampire flick for the vampire lover at heart. For those, 13 and over, it might be a good one to sink your teeth into on a Saturday afternoon, but leave the little ones at home with those non-vampire loving members of the family.
