How many of you remember Mr. Peabody and Sherman? I certainly do, who could forget that lovable dog and the boy that he adopted? Peabody and Sherman are stepping into the WABAC machine for an adventure that is out of this world. On their journey, they are certain to have some fun and adventure. This kids’ movie review thinks that you should step into the WABAC machine and come along. There is plenty of room so just climb in. Here we go!
For those of you who have not met Mr. Peabody yet, he is quite the character. He is a businessman, an inventor, a scientist, a gourmet chef, a two-time Olympic medalist, and a super-genius. He also happens to be a dog, but that doesn’t stop him. Mr. Peabody even legally adopted a boy of his very own, Sherman. On his mission, they must go back in time to experience some of the most world-changing events first hand. They will meet some of the greatest characters in history. All is well until Sherman breaks the most important rules of time travelers. He attempts to repair history and change the future, but this is nothing compared to his greatest challenge, he is a parent.
This movie was rated a PG-13 for some mild action scenes and rude humor. It is ironic that this movie is PG-13 and movies like 3 Days to Kill are also a PG-13. It is difficult to put these two movies in the same category. Mr. Peabody is fun for all ages. The rude humor is of the level that a five year old would find humorous.
All is well in Peabody and Sherman’s world until Sherman tries to impress his girlfriend by showing her the WABAC machine, from then on it is a time traveling adventure. They visit Troy, ancient Egypt, and help Leonardo DaVinci paint the Mona Lisa. They spoof many other kids’ and adult movies such as the Croods and Indiana Jones. This movie is cute adventurous fun that is appropriate for all members of the family. Go see the Saturday afternoon matinee with the whole family. It will bring back some fond memories for you and will help you build some new ones with them.
