Weatherphiles and storm aficionados, this one if for you. Storm chasers and thrill seekers of all types will be blown away by this one. Into the Storm, tells the story of the day when the town of Silverton was ravaged by not one, but a group of tornados. This is a frightening disaster flick that may be too much as family movie for the entire troop.

The opening scene is intense. A group of high school students are in a car when a tornado touches down in front of them. The girl begs them to go, but the boy gets out the camera for some great footage. The car is picked up and they are all killed. This plot is similar to the movie Twister. It has a crazy storm chaser with an armored vehicle. The storm chasers get a lead that storms are developing near Silverton. A tornado changes course and heads for a high school where students are participating in commencement ceremonies. The building is damaged and students are shaken. In a nearby abandoned paper mill several are trapped when the building collapses on them. There are many tense and dangerous scenes in the movie. There is suspense from the opening scenes to the end. This is only the first tornado in the movie. Suspense builds as an EF5, the strongest tornado on the Fujita Scale, bears down on the town.

First off, this is not a movie that is suitable for those who have an intense fear of storms. This movie does contain some teenage sexual content in terms of girls in low cut tops and boys talking (bragging) about what they do with their girlfriends. There is great catastrophe movie, with violence and gore throughout the entire movie. In many scenes you see the person get sucked up by the tornado and then see their grotesque dead bodies in various places, such as hanging from trees or crashed in a car. Some of the characters are angry at other characters and speak angry words just before the other person is killed. It is an intense movie from start to finish.

This movie is disturbing on many levels for those who are sensitive. There is some drinking in scenes and many horrible deaths. Everyone is in danger. People who are about to be sucked up by tornados do not all use polite language either, as one could imagine. The depictions of the disasters in this movie are from found footage. They are real and it is not only the kids in the family that may want to stay away from this one. However, if you are a disaster film veteran, or a real storm chaseräó_..this parental guide to the movies thinks this one is for you.
