The opening date for this sequel of Friday the 13th was not an accident. This sequel to the 2011 psychological thriller once again centers on the Lambert family and their children. It has been a while since the first movie. Let this Parental Guide to the movies refresh your memory.

In the first movie, a couple’s young son slips into a coma and becomes a connection to the spirit world. The coma is a result of a ladder that mysteriously cracks, plummeting the child to the floor. The first movie is creepy with shadowy figures lurking around and strange disembodied voices. Thinking that it is the house, which is at fault, the family moves to another house. However, this does not free them from their ghostly problems, and soon the events become even more sinister. The paranormal activity escalates from frightening apparitions to violent physical attacks on the family members. While the young boy continues in the comatose state, a demon tries to use him for evil intentions. It becomes a psychic struggle for life, death, and beyond. This was a frightening movie, perhaps too frightening for the young ones.

Insidious: Chapter 2 promises to be more of the same. The family is now living with their Grandmother. Dalton is out of the coma and there is a new baby in the family. It looks like all is well and the family can now have peace. They soon discover that all is not well and it is not long before strange poltergeist activity begins animating toys. A mysterious lady in white arises, floats across the room, and disappears. It begins happening all again. The baby monitor with the spooky messages is back from the first movie, along with doors that slam by themselves and lock you it, disembodied voices, and frightening Ouija board messages. This psychological thriller will keep you in suspense about what is going to happen next.

Insidious: Chapter 2 is nonstop intensity from terror and suspense aspect. At one point, grandmother is shown in a chair, apparently frightened to death. This may be disturbing for some adults too. This movie is not suggested for those under the age of 13 due to the intensity of the terrifying scenes and violent images. This kid’s movie review advises caution for parents, particularly those with sensitive children. The directors have put together terrifying scene after terrifying scene for nonstop paranormal activity. If you are game, this movie to be released on Friday the 13th will keep you at the edge of your seats. Will the Lambert family ever escape the demon that pursues them? You will have to see the movie, you won’t find any spoilers here.
