Gulliver is back, but not the way we remember him in our favorite childhood classic. In this version a travel writer takes a vacation that he will never forget. The writer ends up on Lilliput and is a giant among the little folks. An interesting little twist is that you get to Lilliput through the Bermuda triangle. He did not forget to take his cell phone this time. In this updated version of the classic, Gulliver must battle a transformer robot who begins its life as an R2D2-like shape from Star Wars. The Lilliputians are simply adorable.
The MPAA has rated this movie as a PG, but the Parental Guide to movies would rate it closer to a PG-13. This movie is geared towards small children, as it is based on a classic tale. However, it appears to be more for school-age children than preschoolers. It has many jokes that are for the adults that the children might not get. For instance, Gulliver in this version, rocks out to the band KISS. It is a simply adorable movie for everyone. This parental advisory is to take the kids, but don’t spill the popcorn on your neighbors. This movie is funny!
