If you loved Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, you will love Cloudy with A Chance of Meatballs 2. This animated classic starts where the first one left off. Inventor Flint Lockwood is safe and secure in the fact that he saved the world when he destroyed his invention. In case you have forgotten, his invention turned water into food. This caused strange meteorological evens such as cheeseburger rain and spaghetti tornadoes. This kid’s movie was delightful and if you want more, they have done it again.

The saga of the invention continues. The invention was not destroyed, but it survived, only it no longer causes it to rain meatballs, it is now creating food animals. These foodimals threaten to take over the world. Your kids will enjoy this adventure where Flint and his friends battle tacodiles, shrimpanzees, hippotatomuses, and cheespiders. One again, it is man against machine to save the world. Only this time, the food will bite back.

This movie was inspired by the famous book in every school library, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. We read it as kids, now our children get to see it in animated splendor. It seems like movies that are actually rated a G are rare. Even mild humor about bodily functions will get the movie bumped to a PG. This one has been officially rated as a G. Even though the movie is about threats and danger, the evil creatures are whimsical and cute. There is never a real sense of danger, just silliness and adventure. This family movie review thinks that this movie passes the test for good wholesome family fun for the entire family, as long as you don’t mind playing with your food.

One word of caution though, this movie may make your hungry, so you had better make it a dinner date with your kids. Swallow Falls has turned into rivers of salsa, breakfast food bogs, and fruit cockatiels. Swallow Falls is one of the cutest worlds created on the big screen in quite some time. It a delightful trip of the imagination that will astound and amaze even the grownups. It is a nonstop food parade, but as the movie says…it’s no picnic. This one meets the family friendly kid’s movie seal of approval.
