Movie Review for Parents

-by Ginger

You Again deals with family relationships and what happens to high school rivalries when everyone grows up. A woman’s brother is just about to marry a girl who bullied her and made her life miserable in high school. The main character is vindictive and acts immature in handling the situation. She apparently did not grow up. It is about competition among these two high school rivals. The main plot is based on a character flaw in the main character. This flaw, the inability to let go of the past, is the main basis for her conflict in the movie.

This is another movie that was rated a PG due to rudeness and adult themes. I agree with this one, as well. By strict MPAA criteria it is a PG, but it portrays a poor role model through the actions of the heroine of the movie. If you want to take your kids to this one, it would probably be OK, but they would not understand the adult themes of the movie. The main characters acts immature while refusing to grow up and let go of the past. In my opinion, this is another baby-sitter night. It would be OK for teens, who might get the humor and understand it a little more.
