Wrath of the Titans Movie Summary

Zeus and the gods are losing their power to control the Titans. As devotion from humans wanes the gods power is weakening and the imprisoned Titans are growing stronger. Now, 10 years after his heroic defeat of the Kraken, Perseus, Sam Worthington -- the demigod son of Zeus, Liam Neeson -- is living a quieter life with his young son. Perseus must leave his quiet life to save this father, Zeus.

            Wrath of the Titans brings back all of the famous Greek heroes into one action packed adventure. It has everything this family movie review could ever want from a fantasy adventure movie. Wrath of the Titans has a monstrous Kraken, Helius, Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, dark dungeons, and a dark underworld. If you love Greek mythology, and even if you don’t this movie has some entertainment punch. As can be expected, it does have some intense violence and action. It would probably be too disturbing for the little ones.

            The plot of the Wrath of the Titans movie is fun. Perseus, the demi-god son of Zeus, has settled in for the quiet country life. This retired hero has settled into the ordinary life of a quiet fishing village with his son. This single dad just wants what everyone wants, peace and quiet. However, being a demi-god can make this difficult. This quiet life is set in the midst of a struggle for supremacy between the gods and titans. The war is a result of weakened powers through a loss of human devotion; the Gods can no longer control the imprisoned Titans. The leader of the titans, Kronos, can no longer wither to rot in the abyss of Tartarus, where Zeus Hades, and Poseidon imprisoned them. They plan a prison break causing an epic battle. Perseus must abandon his mundane existence and heed his true calling, as the son of a God. Hades, and another son of Zeus switch sides and turn on their father. As Zeus’ strength is drained, the Titans grow stronger and come closer to wreaking havoc on humanity.

            Will the Gods be able to prevail and return the Titans to their prison before they can unleash havoc on the world? Is humanity doomed to oblivion as the power of the Titans is unleashed? There is a lot at stake for the world and humanity needs a few heroes to survive.

            The Wrath of the Titans is a fun movie for preteens and teens, but is probably too scary for the little ones. There are explosions, violence, and scary monsters everywhere. It is filmed in 3D and it looks like you are part of the action. This effect makes it especially scary for the little ones. The Wrath of the Titans is a very violent movie, as one would expect from a Greek epic. The film technique and soundtrack make this an intense and dark movie. This parental guide to the movies has to tell you that it is only appropriate for certain audiences. It is very comic-book like in both plot and presentation. For it’s genre, it is very well done.
