The Vow Movie Review for Parents

            Falling in love the first time is wonderful. The newness and freshness of first love is always exciting. In this movie a couple gets to do it all over again. The Vow is a movie about a woman who is in a car accident and loses her memory. She and her husband must remember the love that they once had and rebuild it. This family movie guide finds this to be an adult movie. Although, teens will probably try to convince their current love to take them to see it.

            The Vow movie is just in time for Valentine’s Day. The movie does have some partial nudity, adult language and sexual content, actually quite a bit. The car crash scene is bloody and violent. In terms of content, this parental guide to the movies has to agree with the MPAA on this one. The MPAA forgot to mention drinking, and the fun and adult frolicking that accompany such. The partial nudity bumps it up a little from the average PG-13 movie. It did not technically cross the line into an R, but it has romantic, scantily clad beach scenes, passionate kisses, and other adult fun as central themes. The Vow movie was made for adults.

            The Vow was obviously made for a Valentine’s Day date. Take your honey to see it, you just might be inspired by the couple in the movie, but definitely don’t take the kids. This is an excellent date night movie for Mom and Dad. The plot was a little rehashed from Sleepless in Seattle, and he might take a little coaxing to get him to go see this one, but you just might find yourself falling in love again if you do.
