Movie Review for Parents

-by Ginger

The Other Guys is about two New York City detectives who decide to try to step up to be like two other cops that they idolize. They get an opportunity to break what could turn into one of New York’s biggest crime, if they do not mess it up. It reminds me a lot of Beverly Hills Cop both in content, humor, and plot. It is in the style of a police shoot ‘em up. It has flying car jumps, dramatic crashes and too many bullets to count.

It is rated PG-13 for crude and sexual content. It also contains bad language, and as one would expect from the action comedy about this type of subject, violence and drug related material. It is not a movie for small children under the age of 13. Quite frankly, it is an adult movie, but did not go far enough to earn the rating according to the MPAA. I think that it is just shy of an R.
