After giving birth most mothers are not surprised to find that their body does not magically look the same as it did before they were pregnant.  Pregnancy changes your body in many ways; it thins your muscles so that it is difficult to build them in the future.  It also creates many places for fat storage so that while you are pregnant both you and your baby are constantly nourished.  It creates problems for your back, swelling in your limbs and decreased control over all the muscles of your lower body.  All of these things make it extremely difficult to get back in shape soon after having a baby.  On top of all that many new mothers would prefer to spend long awaited time with their little one rather then exercising their days away.  A great way to loose your baby weight as well as spend time with your little one is to participate in stroller fitness. 

Stroller fitness allows new mothers to rebuild muscles in their legs arms and stomach while spending time with their newborn.  Your fitness routine can include power walking, body toning, strength and flexibility training.  All of this is achieved while you are spending time with your little loved one.  Most new parents must progress slowly through this type of fitness program, starting first with taking walks with your baby.  After you feel comfortable walking long distances with your baby and can do so without over the top heartbeats and extreme breathing then you can move on.   Try to master small hills with your baby, slowly working up to larger hills.  After you have mastered the hills of your area you can try jogging with your stroller.  Before doing so you should make sure your babies stroller is safe to do so.  Another great idea is to purchase a baby bike trailer so that you can pull your child as you bike to reach your fitness goals.
