Movie Review for Parents

-by Ginger

Strange blue lights appear over the city of Los Angeles and people begin to disappear. This sci-fi flick has it all, death destruction, and the imminent end of the human race. Strange alien ships begin to snatch humans who dare to look at the light. The theme and content are similar to War of the Worlds and Independence Day. This movie seems to combine the best of both of these blockbuster hits.

As far as a family movie review is concerned, the film received a rating of PG-13. The film does contain some implied sexual content and a few scantily clothed women. The aliens do not play nice in this movie. They intend to wreck havoc and destruction on the human race. The movie contains disturbing scenes of violence including the violent extraction of human brains by the aliens. I have to agree with the MPAA in their PG-13 movie rating guide for families.

This movie would be too disturbing for the wee ones, but some pre-teens might be able to handle it. The parental advisory on this movie would probably be a little over a PG-13 due to the nature of the scary scenes, but is not quite an R. I would place it somewhere in the middle, based on the shear number of gratuitous and unnecessary cleavage shots.
