No parents, it’s not déjà vu, it is a remake of the 1984 film about an alternate timeline where America is invaded by the Russians, only this time, they have teamed up with the Chinese. In this movie, a group of teenagers must save their hometown from the “red” invasion. The plot is similar to the original only with a few updated plot twists, such as one of the brothers who just returned from Afghanistan. When a surprise invasion sweeps a small town, the citizens form an effective resistance of frightened, but brave American citizens.
The word on the street is that this movie will not be released until 2011 for unknown reasons. The MPAA movie rating guide gave this one a PG-13 for sequences of intense war violence and action, and for language. This parental movie advisory would have to agree with them on all points for this one. The movie shows war at its worst and I would not take children under the age of 13 to see it. It is a little too realistic in its portrayal of the horrors of war.
