Prom is one of the most memorable times of teenage life. It is everything that ties the past and future together. This story revolves around this tenuous time in teenage life. A group of teenagers suddenly find their lives intertwined around Prom time. This story is about teenage love triangles, treachery and coming of age. It is high school drama at its finest. Teens going to prom will find it easy to relate to and adults may find it to be a trip down memory lane.
The story is about who you were in high school and who you will be in the future. The movie is about teenage social dynamics, romance, dating, joy and disappointment. There are comedic moments throughout the movie, as well as serious, angry, and happy moments. This movie runs the gambit of teenage social situations and emotions surrounding the biggest night of their high school career. It is about shattered dreams and hope. The range of characters in the movie was fantastic. The characters include every clique that one can image in any ordinary high school. In this way, the author successfully reaches the audience that is intended. Everyone will be able to see someone that they know, or that they knew in this movie.
The MPAA has rated this as a PG for mild language and a brief fight, but the audience will most likely be tweens and teens. It is appropriate, and geared towards the teenager. This story is about teenage romance and innuendo about dating. It shows kissing, but it does not do it in a distasteful way. It includes mild sexual content, but only in the context of students trying to attract a date for prom. There is nothing in it that is inappropriate for teenagers who are preparing for prom.
