New Year's Eve Movie Review for Parents

-by Ginger

New Year’s Eve is always a magical time and this year is no exception.     New Year’s Eve tells the tale of several young adult couples and singles who embark on romantic adventures set around the Big Apple’s gala New Year’s event. This adult romance has many sexual references and hints. This family movie guide considers New Year’s Eve to be an adult film about adult situations. It contains a few bleepable words too!
New Year’s Eve in Times Square is a night of fabulosity. This whirl-wind adventure has all of the best, the first baby of the year grand prize, funky glasses, dancing at all of the best clubs, celebrities galore, and romance, romance, romance. This family movie review agrees that nothing beats New Year’s Eve in New York City, but your kids might not have the same opinion. Aside from the fact that this movie is not targeted towards teens, the sexual references are abundant. They probably will not learn anything new, but the adults are behaving like adults and modeling young adult behavior.
In terms of genre, this one is a chic flick for sure. New Year’s Eve may be appealing to older teens that are ready to embark on adventures into the big, bad world, but younger teens would probably be more interested in playing Dance Revolution and air hockey in the movie theater arcade. Many teens may find it much too mushy for their tastes. Older adults will look back and reminisce about what it was like to be young and fabulous. This family movie review considers this movie to be targeted towards a very specific audience. Just forget taking children under 13 to see this movie, they probably will not even sit through it. For a date night movie, sure: for a family movie, this one is not a good choice.
