It has been nearly 12 years since the release of great classic animated science fiction cartoon. Escape from Planet Earth begins on a distant planet called Baab. Scorch Supernova already has a reputation as a national hero among the blue aliens on his home planet. He and his nerdy brother, Gary, save the planet from villains using astonishing feats of daring. His next mission will perhaps be the most challenging. He is sent to planet Earth to respond to a distress call. This is when the animated family fun may have a sense of familiarity according to this parental guide to the movies.
Scorch Supernova arrives on planet earth in the middle of the night. Everything is dark except for the shining beacon of the 7-Eleven. Much of the action in the opening of the movie takes place at 7-Eleven. Here Scorch experiences his first Slurpee brain freeze. Expect to see a rise in Slurpee sales after this movie hits the big screen. It is not long before Scorch finds himself entangled in a trap set by the evil Shanker, played by none other than William Shatner. Now, Scorch’s Brother Gary is the one who must rescue his superhero brother.
Next Scorch is taken to Area 51, which happens to be located through the doors of the stockroom of the 7-Eleven. I always wondered what was back there. Area 51 is a holding place for aliens that have been captured the on their missions on earth. They are kept in a zoo like atmosphere and have to make a plot to escape. They must face an earthling who is set on destroying all of their planets and ridding the earth from further alien infestation.
This family movie review sees a lot of similarities between the 2002 classic, Lilo and Stitch. Escape from Planet Earth movie has animated gunfire, explosions, punching, hitting, and general toughness as the aliens try to escape from their captors. There is spaceship shooting and other science fiction action. With that warning taken into account, this family movie review considers this to be good family fun. Escape from Planet Earth movie is not been rated yet, but due to its similarity and content to Lilo and Stitch, it can be expected to receive a PG rating for mild science fiction action. It may be too scary for those three and under, but will probably be a delight for those from ages 3 to 8. Get out your wallets and be prepared. You can expect the line of toys to be released around the date of the movie premiere.
