Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted Family Movie Review for Parents

-by Ginger

This continuation of the Alex, Marty, Gloria and Melman’s journey home to the Big Apple and their home at the Central Park Zoo continues in the Madagascar 3 movie. Only this time their travels will take them through Europe. They must find a cover so they take up with a traveling circus… Madagascar style. Before they can go home, they must find the penguins. This family movie guide thinks that this trip is a load of laughs for the entire family.

On this leg of the journey the troop travels to Monte Carlo where they accidentally attract the attention of Animal Control. They crash the gate and are joined by the penguins including King Julian and Co. They are also joined by those mischievous monkeys and their hilarious antics. They pick up a new companion in the form of a performing llama. They now form a motley crew including a lion, zebra, hippo, giraffe, four penguins, two monkeys, three lemurs and a llama. They must make their way through Europe without attracting attention… well too much.

Mild action and some rude humor kept this movie, Madagascar 3 from being a G, but in all honesty, this family movie review thinks that it will be good family fun for everyone. The troop must be creative as they try to invent crazy circus acts to try and blend in with the crowd. There is some face slapping and a show of guns by the animal control officer. The animals are outlaws and must evade the law to make it home.

The only thing that I don’t get is why they used the song, “I’m Sexy and I Know It” by LMFAO. I have absolutely no idea what connection that has with the content of the movie. Furthermore, this does not seem like an appropriate subject matter for a song to be used in a PG movie. What circus animals have to do with being sexy is beyond me. Perhaps there is some connection between animal print pants or something, who knows. This is one mystery that may remain unresolved for all time. However, despite this seemingly misplaced song, this family movie review thinks that the Madagascar 3 movie promises to be fun for the whole family.
