A fun, feel good movie with a beautiful love story, two enchanting romances all framed by the picturesque Italian countryside. While a predictable story line, just sit back and enjoy the movie as Seyfried and Redgrave bring their characters to life exactly as you expect. Comforting like a warm blanket.

Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) is an young American woman who travels to Verona, Italy with her finance, Victor (Gael Bernal) and is transformed by the people she meets. She joins a group of women, the Secretaries of Juliet, who answer letters sent to Romeo and Juliet for advice. Sophie finds and answers a 53 year old letter which brings its English author, Claire (Vanessa Redgrave) back to Verona in search of her long lost love, Lorenzo. Claire and her grandson, Charlie (Christopher Egan) combine forces with Sophie to find Lorenzo. As they traverse the idyllic Italian countryside Sophie’s and Charlie’s contemptuous relationship evolves into romance. As predicted, Claire finds Lorenzo and their chemistry is electric. Redgrave delivers an outstanding performance.

The movie is rated PG for brief rude behavior, sensual images and some language and incidental smoking.
