Journey 2: The Mysterious Island Movie Review for Parents

-by Ginger

Journey 2: The Mysterious Islandtakes you and your family on a wondrous, thrill filled adventure. Sean Anderson is on a mission to find his grandfather, who is thought to be missing on a mythical island. When the search party arrives, they find themselves on an island that has dinosaurs that see them as a tasty snack, among other dangers. It was a little reminiscent of Land of the Lost or perhaps the Jurassic Park movies. Of course, there is always the Survivor factor, Atlantis, the mountain of gold and other creatures and features of the island.

The main plot centers on the group’s attempts to escape from the island once they are stranded there. In the beginning of the movie their helicopter crashes and they must fight for their survival on the island. The Journey 2: The Mysterious Islandmovie does have a minor subplot about a teenage boy trying to get the attention of the female in the movie. This factor introduces a few light flirtatious themes to the movie. There were a few cases of profanity, of course, from the teens in the movie. The teens do kiss passionately. This language was enough to earn the Journey 2: The Mysterious Island a PG rating, but anyone who has teens has already heard it. This family movie review would be fun for the entire family. The dinosaurs might be too scary for the very little ones though.

The real question that comes to mind in the Journey 2: The Mysterious Islandmovie is whether the “pecks of love” actually work to attract a potential mate. The scenery in the movie is beautiful and the effects are spectacular. The island in the movie is based on the one featured in the famous Jules Verne novel. This movie has to be enjoyed in 3D. On this journey, you will see incredible plant and animal life. This family movie review thinks that the entire family should see the Journey 2: The Mysterious Islandmovie. It is an excellent adventure for all.
