The pad provides a heat source that is reusable over and over. The heating pad contains a solution of water, a food grade sodium acetate (a form of salt) and a stainless steel disc . When you gently flex the disc (just enough to hear a click sound), this starts a chain reaction where the solution begins to crystallize and generate heat lasting up to an hour.
Once the pad cools, simply immerse in boiling water for 5-10 minutes or until the solution becomes completely clear and it is ready to go again.

Instant Bottle Warmer User Guide
Step #1
Firmly bend/click the metal disc to start the chemical reaction (please
note: just bend the disc far enough to hear a click sound; flexing the
disc too far will cause it to break). The liquid will turn white and give
off heat as it begins to crystallize and harden.
Step #2
Wrap the gel pad around the bottle and attach Velcro strap. The
metal disc should facing the top of the bottle. Place bottle and gel pad
inside insulated carrier to prevent heat loss.
The pad should heat your bottle in 10-15 minutes to a desired temperature.
Keep bottle stored in the insulated carrier to keep cold
until ready for use!

the liquid in the bottle. The pad will continue heating the liquid beyond
this temperature if you leave it in for longer.
Step #3
When you want to re-use the pad, simply immerse in boiling water on
top of a small cloth for several minutes (5 10) until all of the crystals
are melted and the solution becomes COMPLETELY CLEAR.
Remove the pad from the water with tongs.
If crystals start forming while the bag is cooling (once you have
removed it from the water), boil for a few minutes longer. Do not allow
water to boil dry. Allow pad to cool completely before re-using.
