The Dark Knight was released in July of 2008 in both regular and IMAX theaters. It’s a superhero thriller based on the DC Comic’s characters Batman and The Joker. The film stars Christian Bale and Heath Ledger.
The movie should be reviewed by parents before allowing children under thirteen to watch due to the PG-13 rating. The rating is for intense sequences of violence and some menace. The movie is based on a comic book series so parents may mistakenly believe that it ok for young children. Small children may find many of the scenes intense and frightening. The movie is appropriate for teens and up.
The DVD and Blu-ray was released in December of 2008. There is a one disc DVD version or there is a two-disc special edition version available on both DVD and Blu-ray.
