Count Down to Zero provides a frightening look at the real-world scenario that currently exists concerning nuclear proliferation, terrorism and rogue nations. It is more of a documentary than a movie. It makes its story convincingly with footage and statements of world leaders. It makes the point that global warming is a moot point if we blow ourselves up first.

This is a film with a purpose and intends to make a political statement. It is not a movie for children, unless you happen to have a king sized bed with plenty of room for little ones with nightmares. It addresses a very grown-up topic in a grown-up way. As a matter of fact, the film makes its point so convincing that the adults might lose a little sleep after seeing it. The movie is meant to spur people into action and promote complete nuclear disarmament.

This film is not violent in the traditional manner. It shows cities in the aftermath of nuclear destruction. I consider it for adult audiences because of the general theme and topic of the movie and the presentation of the information. We rated it a PG-13 plus .25 on our scale. It is a frightening film, because much of it is true and based on facts about the world in which we currently live. It is a truly thought-provoking film.
