Convertible car seats are primarily designed for toddlers. For smaller children, the seats can be used in a rear-facing configuration. However, for larger toddlers they can be used in a forward-facing fashion as well.
The height and weight of the child should be carefully considered when buying convertible car seats. Most of these seats have size and weight specifications that should be adhered too at all times. Failing to do so can have tragic consequences in the event of an accident.
For most convertible car seats, expect to pay at least 250 – 300 dollars. There are some that are available for less money, but most run in that average. Also, before using a new convertible seat, make sure you understand all of the functions, including the correct way to securely buckle the seat in place.
