Cold Light of Day Movie Summary
A sailing vacation goes bad, not a new story line however in this story the bad guys seem like the good guys. Intelligence agents must recover a briefcase and kidnap Will Shaw's family and force him to escape and figure out how to save his family.

The Cold Light of Day is murder mystery that tells the story of a man who takes a sailing trip to Spain with his family. His family is kidnapped and he finds out that it was an intelligence agency that was looking to recover a mysterious briefcase. Will, a Wall Street trader, must find his family before it is too late. The Cold Light of Day movie is an action adventure with a mysterious undertone. This family guide to the movies thinks this action adventure, The Cold Light of Day, was intended for an adult audience, rather than a family audience.
Will has to find the briefcase or both himself and his family will be killed. He has no idea what briefcase they are talking about and he must weave his way through the mystery in a foreign land where he does not speak the language. Will has only a short time to solve this mystery and time is running out by the minute. Sigourney Weaver plays a stone cold agent who drives a hard bargain. The Cold Light of Day movie has its share of gunfire, car chases, fistfights, explosions, and a daring jump off a building. The scenes are very frightening and intense, perhaps a little too intense for younger audiences.
In The Cold Light of Day movie, Bruce Willis plays a CIA agent working at the Spanish embassy. The first clue that this movie is not intended for small children is that it has Bruce Willis in it. He is not known for movies with family friendly content. There is quite a bit of suspense and violence throughout the movie. Many scenes in The Cold Light of Day movie are simply too frightening for younger members of the audience. The Cold Light of Day was rated PG-13 for language and sexual content. This is a violent movie and there are quite a few expletives throughout. A family is seen drinking together. There are few highly intense scenes involving action. Even the trailer is only approved for appropriate audiences, but not all audiences.
The Cold Light of Day looks to be an excellent action flick for those who like this genre, but it is not recommended for younger members of the audience. This parental guide to the movies feels that The Cold Light of Day would be OK for teens, but not early teens, particularly those that are sensitive to violence in movies. There are better choices at the movies that qualify as true family movies and parents would be wise to seek them out rather than taking the family to see this one. Of course, if you are Bruce Willis and Sigourney Weaver fans, The Cold Light of Day movie will not disappoint.
