Baby Christening Gifts.

If you have been chosen as a godmother or father to a new little one you may want to consider getting the baby a gift.
Traditionally godparents give the new baby a small gift to commemorate the day. The actual custom of baby christening gifts used to be the godparents gave the baby a silver spoon if they could afford it.
Today more personal gifts are usually given such as blankets, pillows, figurines, or picture frames. The recurring theme of a little lamb is also common in baby christening gift due to the religious nature of the event. This is also a time where a family heirloom may be passed to the child.
Other Christening baby gifts ideas include a baby Christening bib featuring a cross, a Christening blanket or a silver-plated cross baby cup.
Friends and family members are not expected or required to bring baby christening gifts. The grandparents may want to give a small token to the child and often purchase or make the christening dress for the baby. The dress can then be later mounted for display in a frame or preserved for future generations.
