If you have a home with tweens and teens, then you have surely heard the wooing and ogling over 16-year-old Justin Bieber. Named recently by People Magazine as one of the world’s most beautiful people, Justin Bieber has become a household name.
His current hits, “Baby,” accompanied by Ludacris, and “Eenie Meenie” with Sean Kingston are both among the top 10 downloads on iTunes. Even Rolling Stone Magazine and Saturday Night Live recently featured this teen wonder.
The clean-cut looking, Canadian-born teen pop/R&B sensation began singing about four years ago. His adventure began after placing second at a competition in his hometown in Stratford, Ontario.
“The other people in the competition had been taking singing lessons and had vocal coaches. I wasn’t taking it too seriously at the time, I would just sing around the house. I was only 12 and I got second place,” said Justin on www.justinbiebermusic.com.
He then posted his performance on YouTube, along with other videos he created and received so many views that he caught the eye of So So Def marketing executive Scooter Braun. The natural abilities of this self-taught musician intrigued Usher, enough to get him to sign a deal with Island Records, launching his international career.
Teens are flocking to Justin’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/JustinBieber. The site boasts over 3.2 million fans. Justin himself posts updates about his travels and songs and even uses it to promote causes, like Oprah’s No Phone Zone Pledge, to keep teens (and adults) from texting and driving.
“I’m looking forward to influencing others in a positive way,” said Justin on his website. “My message is you can do anything if you just put your mind to it. I grew up below the poverty line; I didn’t have as much as other people did. I think it made me stronger as a person, it built my character. Now I have a 4.0 grade point average and I want to go to college and just become a better person.”
Even adults have taken notice of his music.
“I think older people can appreciate my music because I really show my heart when I sing, and it’s not corny,” he said. “I think I can grow as an artist and my fans will grow with me.”
Justin Bieber's first concert tour began in June 2010 and sold out fast. For more information about Justin Bieber visit www.justinbiebermusic.com.
